About WOTA
The objectives of the organization are to improve and advance the practice of occupational therapy.
The association promotes accepted standards of professional performance in occupational therapy, fosters research and the study of the profession, and engages in other activities to further the dissemination of knowledge about the practice of occupational therapy. These objectives are accomplished by a structure that is built on a solid financial base and by sound management principles in order to facilitate the functioning of the organization and the active participation of members as volunteers in the activities of the organization.
Membership services are of primary importance to the Wisconsin Occupational Therapy Association. In addition to informational, support, and networking opportunities, the continuing education of members is necessary to maintain standards of quality of service delivery as well as to monitor and adjust to environmental change. Membership recruitment, development and retention are essential to meet Wisconsin's present and future needs for occupational therapy services.
Relationships with the external environment include but are not limited to legislative activity, community education and collaborative networking with other allied health professions, advocacy groups, business and industry representatives, health care agencies, health care consumers and the general public.
The Wisconsin Occupational Therapy Association is proactive to enhance practice accessibility including reimbursement or coverage for services.
