Introduction

The Wisconsin Occupational Therapy Association (WOTA) is a the state affilitate of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). The WOTA website is an Internet extension of our professional state-wide association and acts as a member-based repository and resource of information, news, career and continuing education opportunities, legislative initiatives and the latest happenings relative to the Occupational Therapy practice in the State of Wisconsin. This privacy statement discloses the privacy practices for the WOTA website and applies only to information collected on website(s) owned, operated, and managed by WOTA.

Information Involuntarily Collected From Visitors and Users

We collect the following information for every visitor to our website:

• Your Internet Protocol (IP) address,
• The operating system of the computer from which you accessed our website,
• The web browser type and version used to access our website,
• The date and time you arrived at our website,
• The pages you visited on our website, and
• The date and time you exited our website.

WOTA is the sole owner of this involuntarily collected information from visitors to our website and we do not share this information in raw form with any third parties. This information is used to prepare internal visitor/traffic reports that may be shared with third-parties from time to time; however, personally identifiable information collected involuntarily is not shared.

Information Voluntarily Collected From Visitors and Users

WOTA collects personally identifiable information (PII) that is voluntarily submitted by users via our website. Visitors are required to provide PII to become WOTA members and certain PII collected on our website may be shared between association members and business partners.

WOTA is an online merchant to the extent that we collect user and/or member credit/debit card information for the purpose of facilitating a purchase or the payment of fees such as: (1) annual membership and renewal dues; (2) fees associated with various online registrations and applications; and (3) transactions involving the collections of fees from those which WOTA conducts normal daily business.

WOTA stores user and/or member credit/debit card information associated with purchases from our website. Credit card information is securely encrypted and transferred over a 256-bit encrypted Secure sockets Layer (SSL) connection before being stored in our database. This information is used for billing purposes, to fill orders, and to make refunds should they be requested in accordance with our refund policy. if we have trouble processing an order, we'll use this information to contact you.

To collect PII voluntarily submitted by users the WOTA website uses an 256-bit encrypted SSL (the "Connection") provided through Omnis Networks and GeoTrust, Inc. (GeoTrust). GeoTrust is a leading SSL Certificate and Company/Website Identity Verification authority. The identity of our server has been verified by GeoTrust Global CA. The connection uses TLS 1.0 and is encrypted using AES_256_CBC, with SHA1 for message authentication and DHE_RSA as the key exchange mechanism.

You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon in your web browser or observe the "https" prefix at the begining of the URL address for any page on our website collecting PII. WOTA also protects your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing purposes or customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. the computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

What We Do With the Information We Gather?

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with better service. Our use of this information is primarily for the following purposes:

• internal record keeping;
• improvement of our website, products, and services; and
• transmittal of association and promotional information regarding new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting.

Although the data found using the WOTA website have been produced and processed from sources believed to be reliable, no warranty, expressed or implied, is made regarding accuracy, adequacy, completeness, legality, reliability or usefulness of any information.
