This class has been developed for the therapist who works with clients in a facility where the
admission diagnosis is a physical rehabilitation condition, however, the client also has an addiction disorder.


Greg will explain a typical background for a client with an addiction, gradual increase in use, tolerance,
frequency, brain chemistry changes, development of defenses and denial, addictive behaviors observed, and
explain the resulting impairment. Greg will also help put into perspective how this client appears in the
physical rehabilitation setting where the client’s addiction is not the main focus of admission.

 

Greg Delaney has been the Department Chair of the AODA Program at Fox Valley Technical College for 14 years. He has a
Master’s degree in Community Counseling from UW-Oshkosh, is a certified AODA counselor since 1983, and is also a
Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor.
