Each participant should bring a pillow and have the ability to access full scapular region, upper
extremities, low back, and mid-thigh to feet.




7:30-8:00 Registration

8:00-9:00 – Intro to dry needling and applications in occupational therapy

9:00-9:45 – Shoulder treatments

9:45-10:45 – Participants insert needles for shoulder treatments

10:45-11:30 – Headache/neck treatments

11:30-12:30 – Participants insert needles for headache/neck problems

12:30-1:30 Lunch

1:30-2:15 – Low back treatments

2:15-3:15 – Participants insert needles for low back treatments

3:15-4:00 – Knee osteoarthrosis(itis)

4:00-5:00 – Participants insert needles for knee osteoarthrosis(itis) -


Course Objectives:   


Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the history of dry needling and clinical applications
  • Understand needle safety, precautions, and contraindications
  • Properly insert needles for:   Shoulder pain, Headache/neck pain, Low back pain, Knee osteoarthrosis(itis)
  • Understand the use of electrical stimulation to augment dry needling
