UPDATE On the DSPS Licensing Study

The Department of Safety and Professional Services released their report, after asking all professions to participate in a licensing survey late last year.
WOTA organized several ways to protect the OT profession.
  • First, we hosted an OT Day at the Capitol, in which we had a record number of OT/OTA professionals and students visit legislators, and explain the importance of our licenses.
  • Next, we used a wide range of communication tools to engage OTs/OTAs statewide to participate in the survey, and insist that our licenses are crucial for practice. Our reasons include, but are not limited to: reimbursement, ongoing training and protection for patients.
WOTA achieved significant participation in the survey. It is clear that our organized work made a difference. Members have received our review of the final report.
