Mechanisms of Change – How Do Your Therapy Interventions Really Work?

A CE event where 24 MOT students will provide detailed information about intervention techniques commonly used by practicing OTs.

Please join us for a continuing education event. Concordia's 2nd year Master of Occupational Therapy Students will present about the mechanism of how a specific therapy intervention used by OT’s works at a cellular, neurological or psychological level. There will be multiple ongoing sessions focusing on pediatric and adult topics related to school based practice, orthopedics, neurological and other areas. Each session will be 20-25 minutes in length.

Learning Objectives:

1. Participants will understand the BACKGROUND of an intervention including:

  • Definition of WHAT the intervention is
  • WHO provides the intervention,
  • HOW it is provided and
  • Educational requirements to provide the intervention

2. Participants will be able to clearly articulate the mechanism of change related to the selected intervention by explaining how this treatment works to remediate/improve a specific problem.

3. Participants will be able to understand IF and HOW the treatment is supported by evidence and/or best practice.
